Transformers 2: Revenge of Megan Fox's slo-mo runs

Plot:

Decepticon forces return to Earth on a mission to take Sam Witwicky prisoner, after the young hero learns the truth about the ancient origins of the Transformers. Joining the mission to protect humankind is Optimus Prime, who forms an alliance with international armies for a second epic battle.

Review:

Worst movie this summer. Complete Utter SHIT. I put up a small plot on this one because if I were to post a more elegant detailed synopsis, your minds would explode. Michael Bay has sunk to new lows on this one. Throw the script out the door and rock some CGI. This movie is only good for the elaborate slo-mo shots of Megan Fox running in the middle of a huge epic battle... need I say more.

Few issues I noticed with this movie:

1. Huge fight scene in the city suddenly is moved into the middle of a forest. Huh?
2. Takes 2 hours for the lead actors to get to an area a km away.
3. Shia's mom is high on pot brownies and is a complete moron. Har har
4. End scenes an explosion not even close to Shia and he dies and comes back to life with this prophecy from the Primes... where the hell did that come from?
5. Bay puts in 2 black robots looking like ghetto trash and doesn't see whats wrong with it. One has a gold tooth. Yikes

The Hurt Locker

Plot:

An intense portrayal of elite soldiers who have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world: disarming bombs in the heat of combat. When a new sergeant, James, takes over a highly trained bomb disposal team amidst violent conflict, he surprises his two subordinates, Sanborn and Eldridge, by recklessly plunging them into a deadly game of urban combat. James behaves as if he's indifferent to death. As the men struggle to control their wild new leader, the city explodes into chaos, and James' true character reveals itself in a way that will change each man forever

Review:

A must see movie this year. Very intense flick about the lives of bomb disarmers during wartime. Jeremy Renner is bad ass as the bomb squad leader -- breakout role for him. Probably one of the most legit movies on the Iraq war right now and the hardships of the soldiers in the conflict. Keep an eye out for a nice little cameo at the start from Guy Pearce.

Changeling

Plot:
Inspired by actual events that occurred in 1920s-era Los Angeles, Clint Eastwood's "Changeling" tells the story of a woman driven to confront a corrupted LAPD after her abducted son is retrieved and she begins to suspect that the boy returned to her is not the same boy she gave birth to. The year was 1928, and the setting a working-class suburb of Los Angeles. As Christine (Angelina Jolie) said goodbye to her son, Walter, and departed for work, she never anticipated that this was the day her life would be forever changed. Upon returning home, Christine was distressed to discover that Walter was nowhere to be found. Over the course of the following months, the desperate mother would launch a search that would ultimately prove fruitless. Yet just when it seemed that all hope was lost, a nine-year-old boy claiming to be Christine's son seemed to appear out of thin air. Overcome with emotions and uncertain how to face the authorities or the press, Christine invites the child to stay in her home despite knowing without a doubt that he is not her son. As much as Christine would like to accept the fact that her son has been returned to her, she cannot accept the injustice being pushed upon her and continues to challenge the Prohibition-era Los Angeles police force at every turn. As a result, Christine is slandered by the powers that be, and painted as an unfit mother. In this town, a woman who challenges the system is putting her life on the line, and as the situation grows desperate, the only person willing to aid her in her search is benevolent local activist Reverend Briegleb

Review:
I was pretty skeptical about the idea of this movie and wasn't really into watching it. I was pleasantly surprised. This is a really touching tale of a women's battle with the LAPD in hopes of finder her son. Clint Eastwood directs and you can feel the emotion in every scene. Can't believe I'm gonna say this but...its one of the years best acting performances by Angelina Jolie. Very emotional movie are always very good. Be sure to check this out.

Pride and Glory

Plot:
A saga centered on a multi-generational family of New York City Police officers. The family's moral codes are tested when Ray Tierney, investigates a case that reveals an incendiary police corruption scandal involving his own brother-in-law. For Ray, the truth is revelatory, a Pandora's Box that threatens to upend not only the Tierney legacy but the entire NYPD.

Review:
This movie is long, slow and boring. Now, it has a great cast but that cant save just how drawn out this movie is. It runs 2hrs and 14 minutes and it could be cut back to 1hr into a Law & Order type movie and it will work a crapload better than this did. This movie was held back on release for over a year and I can see why the studio did so. The director tried to make this an epic tale but failed miserably. Ya just don't care what goes on in it.

RocknRolla

Plot:
In London, a real-estate scam puts millions of pounds up for grabs, attracting some of the city's scrappiest tough guys and its more established underworld types, all of whom are looking to get rich quick. While the city's seasoned criminals vie for the cash, an unexpected player -- a drugged out rock 'n' roller presumed to be dead but very much alive -- has a multi-million dollar prize fall into his hands.

Review:
This is all Guy Ritchie here. From the start this movie feels like his famous gems -- Snatch and Lock Stock and 2 Smoking barrels. If you like those movies then you'll love this one. Right off the bat, we get into it and its magnificent. Great characters, great dialogue, great action, great everything. This movie delivers on every mark. Classic Ritchie movies are just flat out fun to watch and this might be the funnest yet.

Now, be sure to remember this movie is not about Gerard Butler. Its all about Mark Strong. Remember that name. :)

Defiance

Plot:
On the run and hiding in the deep forests of the then German occupied Poland and Belorussia that was World War II, the THREE Bielski brothers find the impossible task of foraging for food, weapons and survival, not just for themselves but for a large mass of fleeing Polish Jews from the German war machine. The Bielski brothers, living with the fear of discovery, contending with neighboring Soviet partisans and knowing whom to trust take on the responsibility as a guardian angel that is a fascinating insight into the true events of a small independent group of defiant band-of-brothers. Consisting of women, men, children, the elderly and the young alike hiding in makeshift homes in the dark, cold and unforgiving forests in the darkest times of German occupied Eastern Europe, Defiance is a beautiful reflection of dedication, sacrifice, desperation and hope.

Review:
This movie was good. The fact that it was based on a true story is staggering. I'm a sucker for WW2 movies so I was really looking forward to this one. For the most part, this movie was solid throughout but just felt a bit off. The main reason for this, in my opinion, was the 2 lead actors -- Daniel Craig and Liev Schrieber. Now, I love Craig as the new Bond and Schrieber is also good but their performances just didn't go over in this movie. A major issue I noticed early was Craig's accent. It kept going from Russian to British, back to Russian. It was getting annoying. I'd recommend this movie to all the WW2 movie fans out there because it is a great story.
