Revolver

Plot:
After seven years in solitary, Jake Green is released from prison. In the next two years, he amasses a lot of money by gambling. He's ready to seek his revenge on Dorothy (Mr. D) Macha, a violence-prone casino owner who sent Jake to prison. He humiliates Macha in front of Macha's lieutenants, leaves, and keels over. Doctors tell him he has a rare disease and will die in three days; Macha also puts a hit out on him. Loan sharks, Zack and Avi, demand Jake's cash and complete fealty in return for protection. Jake complies, and through narration and flashbacks, we watch him through at least three days of schemes, danger, and redemption. Who is his greatest enemy?

Review:
I like Guy Richie movies. Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels and Snatch are both at the top of my lists. This was his next big hit, supposedly. I just want to go out and say on the record 'fuck Madonna'. Cause this whole movie's underlining theme is all about the religion she brought to Ritchie (kabbalah) and I'm not sure if thats a good thing or not but I guess it works here.

Anyways, this is one of those thinking man movies. It makes you try and figure out whats going on and its really well done. Just when you think you figured it out, they throw you a curve ball and switch it up. Makes you mess with your mind. I like movies that do that. I still think that his 2 early films are better than this movie but this movie is so much different than those films its hard to compare.

If you want a mind-bender type flick check this out. Be sure to pay attention to it though cause you can be totally messed up at the end if you don't.

3.5/5
